Tom Brokaw, Boom!
Tom Brokaw was in town recently on his book tour for the recently released book about the impact of the Sixties. He was interviewed by David Brewster in front of a packed house at Seattle's Town Hall. This is a terrific venue for lectures, debates and other cultural events, and their calendar lists their upcoming events. Before the event, my friends and I stopped by the nearby Sorrento Hotel for a holiday cocktail in their lobby bar. This is one of my favorite spots in Seattle, especially over Christmas when they have the bar decorated so beautifully. Costumed Dickens Carolers stroll by your table to serenade you with a favorite traditional song. Or, do as I did and ask for a contemporary carol with humorous lyrics to the tune of a familiar carol!
